    Job Title: Course Leader for Counselling Level 2

    As a Runshaw counselling alumni student herself, Nicola is dedicated to inspiring, and developing equally passionate, safe, and resilient counselling students.

    Nicola is a BACP registered Person-Centred counsellor in regular supervised practiced. Nicola is well grounded in her theoretical approach and has a strong commitment to her ethical framework and professional standards. Nicola has real experience of working with a diverse range of clients and presenting issues, knowledge which she brings to life on her taught courses, offering students a real flavour of using counselling skills in a professional agency setting.

    Completing all her professional training here at Runshaw, Nicola has first-hand experience of the assessment structure and requirements of the CPCAB awarding body across all levels of study. Nicola is committed to a student-centred approach and models Person-Centred conditions of empathic understanding, acceptance, and authenticity. Currently, Nicola is the course leader for Level 2 Counselling Skills, also teaching on the Level 3 Counselling Studies courses.

  • Certificate in Counselling Skills Level 2 CPCAB

    Adults (19+)

    Counselling Skills involve the ability to actively listen to another person to hear and understand what they are trying to say, from their point of view. This portfolio-based course is designed for those who want to learn listening and counselling skills to help others, either in a voluntary or employed capacity, or those who want to find out more about the counselling field. Please note that this course does not qualify you to be a counsellor.

  • Certificate in Counselling Studies Level 3 CPCAB

    Adults (19+)

    This course provides learning experiences which will enable you to develop and practise counselling skills. It will also increase your knowledge/understanding of such skills and look at counselling theories in more depth. It is specifically designed for those who want to take the next step towards training to become a counsellor. The awarding body for this course is the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4 CPCAB

    Adults (19+)

    This part-time qualification gives learners the knowledge, skills and competencies to work as a therapeutic counsellor in an agency context. It is designed to lead to an employed or voluntary role in a counselling agency in both health care and non-medical settings. Learners with sufficient post qualification experience can also begin working as independent practitioners in private practice. The course is delivered one day a week over two years.
