  • Equipment Required

    You will be required to buy text books for this course and will be sent details before the course starts. These books will be available in the library subject to availability. You may also wish to purchase a set of course workbooks which will help you with your studies. These may be purchased through the College at a 40% discounted fee. Your tutor will discuss workbooks with you at the start of your course.

    You will also need to bring the following to the first session:

  • Entry Requirements

    You should have successfully achieved AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or a L2 accounting qualification from another awarding body or A Level Accounting at Grade A*-C. You should have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or an equivalent qualification. Applicants without these qualifications but sufficient life /work experience will need to complete an AAT skills test to assess their eligibility. The ability to word process under time constraints is also essential.

    You are also required to become a member of the AAT professional body and will need to pay the annual AAT membership of £225. Membership is mandatory in order to be registered for examinations, which are an essential part of this course (price correct Aug 2022).

  • How will I be assessed?

    All AAT assessments are practical computer based assessments, available to sit periodically throughout the year. Assessments may be:

    • Computer marked –meaning you will get your provisional results straight away
    • Partially computer marked and partially human marked – you will get your results within six weeks
    • Human marked – you will get your results within six weeks

    This qualification also includes a synoptic assessment, which draws on and tests your understanding of connections between different topics covered across the qualification.

  • Progression Pathway

    On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded an AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting (this course is also known as an Intermediate Diploma in Accounting).
